We join the challenge posed by these bicycle lovers, who have just participated in the Titan Desert 2018 with the aim of raising funds for Lucía, a girl who suffers from a rare disease, severe epileptic encephalopathy.

" On June 14, 2017, a group of 12 friends, all passionate about sports, came together with a purpose: to develop a project that combined sports and social action. In terms of sports, we envisioned an ambitious and new challenge for all of us: the 2018 Titan Desert. As for social action, our goal was to help Lucía, a wonderful girl whose life has been anything but easy."
We told our surroundings about our project and, immediately, we had a very positive response. We found both companies and individuals willing to participate. In a short time we had dozens of people making anonymous contributions and companies such as DEYSA LAND ROVER, SGS, AMERICAN EXPRESS, HUMAN TECAR, ALLCOT and BIKEFRIENDLY.
Just a few days ago, the project became a reality . That group of 12 dreamers who once thought the project was difficult but achievable can now say loudly and with great pride that the goal has been ACHIEVED, both in sporting terms and, especially, in helping Lucía. That wonderful girl who captivated us from the first day we met her.
When we met this group of 'magnificent madmen' and they presented their proposal to participate in the next edition of the Titan Desert with Bikefriendly Tours , we felt a vital need to join the project and collaborate with them as a solidarity sponsor.
“We are a team of 12 sports enthusiasts with experience in long-distance competitions (Ironman, Triathlon, Oceanman, etc.) who are working to improve Lucía's life ,” they told us when we met them. Lucía , the niece of one of the project's founders, lives in Logroño, has just turned five, and was born with a rare disease, severe epileptic encephalopathy, which causes acute psychomotor delay. With their previous project, they had already raised the necessary funds to replace the special wheelchair Lucía needs for her daily commutes, which had become too small. Their goal now was to raise funds to purchase a standing frame, which helps reduce back problems and pain as she grows older.
To achieve this, from April 29th to May 4th, 2018, they participated in the Titan Desert 2018, a 650 km mountain bike race divided into 6 stages across Morocco. To complete such a significant challenge, they relied on the support and experience of biker Milton Ramos , who trained with the group, sharing his expertise to ensure they could successfully tackle such an ambitious undertaking. Bikefriendly Tours provided support in coordinating with the race organizers, designing and producing custom-made gear, and assisting with project presentations.
Both the project and the management of donations have been registered on a solidarity crowdfunding platform, Kukumiku , which has also provided a guarantee of transparency throughout the entire process.
