Mar Hernandez Plana, author of the project, is diagnosed with breast cancer at thirty-six years old. From here and thanks to the diagnosis and the fact of having to undergo surgery and radiotherapy, the bike as one more activity in a titanic attempt at recovery, discovering the importance that sport has in the fight against cancer.
A second diagnosis after five years, which ends with a double mastectomy and chemotherapy, is the starting point of Sculpted Identity. A project thanks to which, Mar begins to share her life experience with many other women who are suffering or have suffered breast cancer, showing them a fundamental tool towards recovery and subsequent quality of life; the sport.
Improving the well-being of women affected by the disease by overcoming, normalizing and recovering everything that is altered is the objective of this beautiful project.
SCULPTED IDENTITY, is the expression of the process of change of a woman who has defeated breast cancer. A body that is transformed by an aggressive process of disease and treatment, emerging a new being.
Breast cancer and sport
The benefit of practicing regular physical exercise in patients who suffer or have suffered from breast cancer lies in a better quality of day-to-day life. Practicing sports plays a fundamental role as a strategy to reduce both the risk of cancer recurrence and the appearance of other related diseases. (osteoporosis, obesity, depression,…). Practicing sports undoubtedly contributes very positively to the lives of people who have overcome cancer.
But Mar takes a step further in her attempt to show the world how fundamental the bicycle was in her recovery and subsequent better quality of life as a breast cancer patient. Within the Sculpted Identity Project, the Onco Breast Bike cycling equipment. A team made up of four women whose purpose is to show all those women that "!If possible"
A team made up of people with experience in events such as the Titan Desert, the Pilgrim Race or the Madrid-Lisbon who wish to raise awareness of the importance of sport in breast cancer recovery through their participation in different sporting events and collaboration with Awareness days and meetings.

It is essential to lay the foundations for a important change in the implementation of sport in the breast cancer treatment process the dissemination of sports challenges, carried out by women affected by this disease.
