Trip description
What can you expect?
We offer you a trip that will open our minds to a culture and ways of facing life that are totally different from what we know. Things will happen... we will get excited, we will laugh, we will dream... and we will open our eyes to new realities.
THE SOLIDARITY CAUSE
The boys and girls of Cusco face several obstacles: on the one hand, They must contribute to the family economy, so they often miss class or drop out of school. On the other hand, families They face terrible situations such as gender violence, alcoholism or lack of resources.
Joining this soulful trip to Peru means helping us improve the living conditions of all these boys and girls through a magical project: the School Yanapay Village.
Yanapay Village School
In the Yanapay Village They work with children, adolescents, adults and families with the aim of helping them find, within themselves, the tools and motivation they need to advance in their personal development.
At this moment, the NGO has two projects: an educational center in Cusco and an ecovillage in the Sacred Valley in Lamay, place where we will stay during our trip, located one hour from the city.
Yanapay Village It is not an official school. The children follow the official school program in their schools and then go to Aldea Yanapay to receive educational support and develop their artistic skills and creativity through various workshops.
In the village, they develop their instinct of self-protection and self-education, as they are offered a alternative education based on love, respect, creativity and personal growth.
Travel with us and come discover a beautiful project that began operating in 2005.
WHAT WILL WE VISIT?
Cuzco, the capital of the Inca Empire
La Cusco city It has as much history as names. Qosqo in Quechua, then Cuzco in Spanish and, currently, Cusco One of the most beautiful cities in the Peruvian Andes that was the capital of the Inca Empire, Known for its archaeological remains and Spanish colonial architecture
The Sacred Valley
Between Machu Picchu and Cusco there is a Sacred Valley. Ancient Inca cities, dizzying landscapes, folklore... Names like Písac, Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, Maras, Moray or Ollantaytambo that, perhaps, won't tell you anything, but that you will end up loving.
We will stay in the eco-village, which is located in the Sacred Valley itself, about 50 minutes from Cusco. We will stay at your hostel “Eco Villa Mágica – Sanctuary Lodge”.
Machu Picchu (Optional)
Peru would not be the same without Machu Picchu. A piece of history, a magical place... an icon for the country. One of the most important architectural and archaeological jewels of the Inca empire and South America in general.
See Huayna Picchu appear among the early morning clouds, walk among the buildings of imperial architecture, look out at the stepped terraces over the Vilcanota River... an unforgettable experience.
Therefore, although the objective of the trip is to learn about and support the solidarity cause of Aldea Yanapay, we offer the (optional) possibility of doing a two-day trek to Machu Picchu (see prices below). Travelers who decide not to do it will enjoy parallel activities in the Sacred Valley.
