XXI International Tourism Congress University-Business: Tourism and development in rural interior spaces.
Today, April 25, 2018, the XXI Edition of the International Tourism Congress Universidad Empresa, which will be celebrated during the days April 25 and 26, 2018.
The title of this new edition is “Tourism and development in inland rural spaces”. This congress is organized by the Jaime I University of Castellón and collaborates with it, among others, the Valencian Tourism Agency.
Tourism has become a lever for growth and development for rural environments that have been affected for years by the rural exodus.
The arrival of tourists to these areas allows them to break their isolation, increase the quality of life of their inhabitants, improve the available economic resources and protect the natural and cultural heritage of the area. Although it is true that the strategy of tourism development in rural areas may be the advisable alternative to increase the profitability of these areas, we must understand that it is about promoting sustainable tourism with the environment in which it is developed (integrated with the remaining economic activities, with the environment, with cultural heritage and with the native population).
In this context, on Thursday April 26, the President of Bikefriendly Group, Raúl Villacampa, will participate as a speaker in the Panel of Experts that from 10:30 to 12:00, will expose the Synergies between tourism and sports in indoor spaces: Hiking, cycling and mountain biking.
Among other topics, Raúl Villacampa will highlight the main advantages that the practice of cycle tourism can offer in rural environments, among which we highlight the development of the local economy, reconversion of disused infrastructure and structuring of the territory.
