The Bikefriendly Network, the largest network of accommodations for cyclists in Spain , is growing to incorporate other types of businesses and establishments that share the cycling culture and also offer specific services, offers or infrastructure for those who regularly travel by bike.
Cafes, wineries, restaurants, bike shops, mountain bike centers , specific services such as transfers, ski lifts or taxis, or tourist attractions adapted to properly welcome cyclists (museums, beaches, etc.) are now included in the Bikefriendly Network , which is evolving to meet the new needs arising in Spain with the new boom in cycling, both urban and tourist.
Establishments that offer secure bicycle storage to their customers or visitors; cafes or restaurants themed around cycling; useful services for those who travel or get around by bike (workshops, biomechanics study centers…) and for those who want to start (rental or sales shops…) or tourist attractions adapted to welcome their visitors by bicycle are some of the new types of Bikefriendly Establishments.
Cycling cafes in the Bikefriendly Network
Major names in the coffee shop sector, such as Eròica Caffè Barcelona , La Bicicleta Café in Malasaña , La Bicicleta Café Castelló , Enjoy Coffee & Bar in the province of Pontevedra, and Fàbrica Cycle Café in Girona , have already joined the Bikefriendly Network and can post specific offers and promotions for their cycling visitors through the Bikefriendly.bike portal and send them to cyclists subscribed to the Bikefriendly Club newsletter.
Wineries to visit by bike
In addition, wineries integrated within major Wine Routes such as Vivancos , in Briones (La Rioja), and Sommos , in Barbastro (Somontano), have joined the Bikefriendly Network as proof that they are prepared to receive visitors who arrive at their facilities by bicycle, either because they have secure bicycle parking or because they allow bicycles inside.

On the other hand, bike shops such as The Cyclery Bikes & Co , ClinicBikes , Cicles JK , Cabestrero Bikes , Bikesec Barcelona , Biciocio El Elejido , and Foxil Bikes have already joined the Bikefriendly Network, which allows them to promote themselves as services associated with Bikefriendly accommodations in their area and vice versa, as well as appearing as a point of interest on the map of the Bikefriendly mobile application , an app for the promotion of destinations, routes, accommodations, and establishments for cycle tourists.
Promote cycling culture from the Bikefriendly Network
“In recent months, the bicycle market has experienced immense growth , and thousands of people in Spain have discovered cycling as an agile and safe means of transport and/or as an infallible companion for leisure, tourism, and sport. Therefore, we believe it is important to highlight and recognize all those establishments that collaborate in some way in promoting and fostering cycling culture , active mobility, and the new models of sustainable tourism that cycling brings,” explains Raúl Villacampa, president of Bikefriendly Group.

Belonging to the Bikefriendly Network as a business includes a range of promotional and outreach services through newsletters, social media, and online advertising. Businesses that join before June 1st will have permanent access to these services at a special price of €50 per year . In addition, businesses that meet the requirements and join the Bikefriendly Network will receive a basic branding package to highlight their commitment to cycling at their entrance.
