The Innpulso Network, which brings together the Cities of Science and Innovation, held its annual plenary session yesterday in Ermua.

Izarra Center has hosted the meetings of the Governing Council –internal- and the plenary session for the representatives of the 68 recognized and integrated cities and municipalities. The day has been intense in work and has given a lot. The mayors of Terrassa, Alfredo Vega and Ermua, Carlos Tororika – who share the co-presidency – together with the Deputy Director General of Promotion of Innovation, Juan Manuel Garrido, opened the morning with an appearance.

Next, the Governing Council addressed the renewal of the body and the constitution of a new one. They have seen the status of the accounts and the execution of the ARINN budget for 2017. They have reviewed the report on the awarding of a new technical secretariat. And you have learned about the proposed objectives and work plan for the period 2018-2019. And they have studied the budget proposal for this year.

After the Council, the Plenary in the Izarra auditorium, realizing the content of the Governing Council, the work plan proposals of the co-presidency, whose pillars are forging strategic alliances (with the ministry and with other networks and agents); commit to its dynamization (regular meetings, improvement of quotas and operations and project management); project the network (schedule strategic events, improve channels and address a communication plan, delve into positioning); and specify a more efficient organizational and management system (define protocols, work dynamics and needs). The session also addressed the renewal and the constitution of a new Governing Council. The Governing Council is made up of eight municipalities, which until now have been the following: Barakaldo and Móstoles (presidency), Santander and Terrassa (large cities), Alcoi and Sant Boi de Llobregat (medium cities) and Los Santos de Maimona and Ermua (large cities). little). Today Barakaldo, Móstoles, -both have presented their candidacy again- Santander, Terrasa, Ermua and los Santos de Maimona came out. And in today's session, with 48 votes from as many cities present, the four cities that will become part of the Governing Council have been elected, resulting in the following composition:

Co-presidency (elected in 2017 who remain)

– Ermua (Bizkaia)

– Terrassa (Barcelona)

Big cities:

– Barakaldo (Bizkaia), with 35 votes.

– Valladolid, with 29 votes.

Medium cities:

– Alcoi (Alicante)

– Sant Boi de Llobregat (Barcelona)

Small cities:

– Ejea de los Caballeros (Zaragoza), with 48 votes.

– Villamayor (Salamanca), 48 votes.

Finally, the budget proposal has been presented to address the proposed work plan that must be approved soon.
