All types of workplaces that encourage their staff to use bicycles for their daily commutes during the month of April can participate.
To sign up, the company must complete the online registration form . Each workplace will have its own group on the Bikefriendly app, where the trips and kilometers traveled by its registered employees will be tracked. They will also be able to create their own internal challenges.
Participate in the official 30 Days Bike to Work challenge
The 30 Days of Biking Campaign has once again partnered with Bikefriendly Group to jointly launch the official 30 Days of Biking to Work challenge . This initiative aims to encourage and recognize companies and workplaces that promote cycling among their employees and encourage their staff's participation in the annual 30 Days of Biking campaign.
The campaign, held annually in April (except last year due to the health situation), encourages citizens to use bicycles for their daily commutes . Since last year, with the introduction of the 30 Days of Biking to Work Awards, it also aims to directly impact commuting and normalize cycling as a regular means of transport to the workplace.
The 30 Days of Biking to Work Awards are an interactive challenge in which companies, public administrations and organizations will compete against each other by adding up journeys and kilometers by bicycle thanks to the involvement of their staff and the use of the Bikefriendly mobile application.
In this way, all organizations wishing to participate in the 2nd Annual 30 Days of Biking to Work Awards will have their own section in the app and a group that employees can join to contribute kilometers on their behalf . Each bike trip recorded by participants during April through the mobile app or their Garmin device (synchronized with the app) will contribute kilometers to the group's total and help it climb the global ranking of the official 30 Days of Biking to Work challenge.
Each workplace will designate its Bikeshero, the person in charge of energizing the group and promoting the use of bicycles among their colleagues during the month of April.
The statistics for each group will be public during the duration of the challenge, and the Bikeshero can encourage the participation of their community by publishing news, using group chat, organizing meetups or specific events, and creating workplace challenges or raffles among the people registered in their group.
30 Days by Bike to Work Awards with Bikefriendly
The recorded journeys will be used to award the 30 Days of Biking to Work Awards, whose objective is to recognize the effort made by participating companies, local entities and organizations to promote cycling in their community on a daily basis.
Therefore, awards will be given in four categories: local authorities, companies, organizations, and outstanding bike heroes. To award these prizes, consideration will be given to the efforts made during the campaign to encourage employee participation in the challenge, the total number of trips taken, and the use of the hashtag #30DaysByBikeToWork on various social media platforms.
In this sense, the participation rate of your community in the challenge, the revitalization activity carried out by the work center, the meetings or organized events, the provision of safe routes to your community will also be taken into account. commuting to work in their territory and the degree of involvement of their community.
Accesit Cycle Friendly Employer and raffles for participants
In addition, the Cycle Friendly Employer certification collaborates with the awards and will recognize those companies and entities that stand out in the challenge and are starting to promote cycling to work with a free certification of their workplace and the necessary support to achieve it.
There will also be a raffle of experiences and products for cyclists among all workers registered in the work center group who register at least 30 kilometers by bike throughout the month of April.
