The star cycling product of the Region of Madrid is taking shape. We were present at the networking day recently organized at the Palace of Santona from the capital, where institutions and companies linked to the project attended.
Last Tuesday, June 27, they met in this spectacular building attached to the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, the main agents involved in the project CiclaMadrid, from members of the Tourism Department of the Community of Madrid, its main promoter, to some of the town councils and companies related to this cycle tourism development plan, without forgetting Bikefriendly Consulting.
The day was inaugurated by the General Director of Tourism of the Community of Madrid, Carlos Chaguaceda, who placed special emphasis on the relevance of CiclaMadridEven for the Presidency of the Government of the region, which has assumed it as a preferred tourism project.
Next, a presentation of the Ciclamadrid Conecta app! and the Ciclamadrid website to the attendees, as well as the methodology that they will soon be able to use to upload their own content, contact potential clients and, ultimately, convert them into their main work tools to attract cycle tourists to the territory. Next, the concept of tourist product that will work CiclaMadrid and the different types of product that will be developed, always around the 'grand tour' as a common denominator, the circular route that surrounds the Community of Madrid, connecting the three declared spaces World Heritage Site (Aranjuez, El Escorial and Alcalá de Henares), and which constitutes the true emblem of this project.
After a short break, the start began. workshop aimed at putting travel agencies specialized in cycle tourism in contact with tourism companies in the region (cycle tourism, accommodation, restaurants, transfers or other activities...), in order to begin to generate specialized tourism products around CiclaMadrid and forge strategic relationships that lead to the creation of cycle tourism packages under the umbrella brand of CiclaMadrid.The day ended with considerable success in attendance and participation, with just over 40 entities, both public and private, that showed their willingness to continue advancing in this project, which is getting closer to becoming a reality.
