Manifesto on the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day
In order to recognize the struggle of women for their equal participation with men in society and in their full development as a person, in 1975 the UN institutionalized the March 8 as International Women's Day.
Since its origin, International Women's Day has become a key date to, on the one hand, remember the fundamental role that women play in society and, at the same time, denounce the invisibility to which they continue to be subjected and, on the other, to continue promoting initiatives aimed at ending inequalities and injustices against women.
under the motto “Now is the time: Rural and urban activists transform women's lives”, this year International Women's Day comes stronger than ever, driven by unprecedented global movements that, through marches and campaigns worldwide, defend rights such as equality and justice for women, while denouncing situations of grievances ranging from sexual harassment and feminicide to inequality in remuneration and political participation.
