Consistency brings you closer to your goals
Perseverance, perseverance, tenacity, stubbornness, continued effort or whatever we want to call it is something that we acquire from the day we are born to carry out any of our daily actions. Getting up early in the morning to go to school, institute, work...study, train, go to extracurricular activities after a hard day, etc. It requires great energy and enthusiasm, which will not always accompany us to develop them.
Tiredness or the lack of reward after effort sometimes makes us give up on our endeavor, but it is perseverance that helps us overcome these moments to achieve our goals , which we will undoubtedly reach sooner or later.
When we set a goal or objective, we must understand that achieving it won't be easy , that it will depend solely on us. Along the way, we will encounter many difficulties, disappointments, and unpleasant things , but we have an advantage: we already know this! We must prepare for it so that when those difficult moments arrive, we'll have our tricks and strategies at hand to overcome these obstacles. We know our strengths, and there are many! And if we're honest with ourselves, we also know our weaknesses, which we must correct with hard work and dedication to gradually approach our goal.
On the way to the goal
When you begin your journey toward achieving your goal, imagine it's a video game where you're the protagonist: you must reach the summit of a great mountain. You start the climb; enthusiasm is your source of energy ; you're at 100% and feel that nothing can stop you. In your mind, there's only one image: reaching the top with a huge smile.
You begin your trek, and days, weeks, months, and years pass. You've already conquered steep slopes, even nearly impassable vertical walls. It's far more than you could have imagined, but the summit is still out of sight . Clouds obscure it, and you don't yet know what lies ahead. What's more, you encounter numerous setbacks that push you hundreds of meters further from the top.
The enthusiasm that was your main source of energy is dwindling, and exhaustion makes you doubt whether all the effort is truly worthwhile. Your image at the mountain's summit is fading more and more.
DANGER! This is the moment when you must use the resources you've gained from the experience of climbing the mountain. You are now strong and wise, much more so than when you started. With absolute certainty and without a shadow of a doubt, look again at the summit. Even if you can't see it, you know it has to be there.
Perseverance should be an essential value in our lives , one that we must practice, because surely it will determine not only whether or not we achieve our goals, but also whether we are destined for success or, on the contrary, for failure.
Fable of the hare and the tortoise
One day a hare made fun of the short legs and slow walking of a tortoise. But she, laughing, replied: "You may be fast as the wind, but in a competition I would beat you." The hare, totally sure that this was impossible, accepted the challenge, and they asked the fox to point out the path and the goal.
When the day of the race arrived, they both set off at the same time. The turtle never stopped walking and, at its slow but constant pace, moved calmly towards the goal. Instead, the hare, which at times lay down to rest on the road, fell asleep. When she woke up, and moving as fast as she could, she saw how the turtle had calmly reached the end and had obtained victory.
Moral of the story: With perseverance and patience, we will achieve our goals.
