IMBA Spain and Bikefriendly Group will jointly promote mountain bike centers and cycle tourism destinations
The International Association of Mountain bike (IMBA for its acronym in English) and Bikefriendly Group, main consultancy in the country specialized in the promotion of bicycles and cycle tourism, have sealed a collaboration agreement to jointly promote the adaptation, validation and promotion of routes and territories suitable for the practice of cycling. mountain cycle tourism in Spain.
IMBA Spain Its main objective is to defend sustainable cycling, represent the interests of mountain bikers and advocate for understanding with other mountain user groups, for which it promotes the certification of routes, spaces and MTB centers as a guarantee of quality and consensus among the territory's actors to promote a type of sustainable cycle tourism, respectful of the environment and compatible with other uses that can be made of the mountains in each territory.
Bikefriendly, for its part, has developed a mobile application for promotion of destinations and cycle routes and accompanies the territories on their path towards specialization in cycle tourism, helping them design quality cycle tourism products and promotion, communication and marketing strategies. Also working with companies and institutions present in the territory to adapt their infrastructure to the needs of cycle tourists through the Bikefriendly Quality Seal for accommodation and territories and the Cycle Friendly Employer certification for workplaces that promote daily commuting of their employees by bicycle (CFE Spain).
With the signing of the agreement, IMBA and Bikefriendly Group are recognized as strategic allies to promote mountain cycling tourism in Spain and commit to working together to continue advancing in the extension of the quality standards set by their respective certifications for MTB routes, accommodations and territories.
In this way, Bikefriendly includes in its portfolio of services for administrations and territories the activation of BTT centers certificates and promotion through the Bikefriendly app and will work closely with IMBA to analyze the viability of new projects, guarantee the adaptation, signage and certification of routes and define successful marketing and communication strategies.
IMBA, for its part, will disseminate among its associates the benefits of Cycle Friendly Employer certification for companies and centers that generate mobility and will also work to raise awareness of the importance of adapting the infrastructure and services of companies in the tourism sector based in environments specialized in mountain cycle tourism.
Through this alliance, IMBA and Bikefriendly also commit to jointly promoting the use of cycling as a way of tourism in Spain. To do this, they will launch a joint communication campaign around the benefits and economic benefits of cycle tourism in our country. Campaign that will try to raise awareness and mobilize all those actors who are decisive, both in the public and private spheres, to guarantee the promotion of cycle tourism in Spain.
