The Association of Brands and Bicycles of Spain and the Bikefriendly business group sign a strategic agreement to help the sector at a time when business collaboration has been shown to be the best tool to achieve great achievements.
The agreement will make it possible to highlight the role of cycle tourism and bicycle mobility as ways of sustainable economic development and sources of employment and wealth.
The Association of Brands and Bicycles of Spain (AMBE) and the group Bikefriendly have signed a collaboration agreement to promote the use of bicycles as a way of doing tourism in Spain and thus helping the sector at a particularly delicate time.
Both entities are committed to promoting the benefits and economic benefits of cycle tourism in front of the public and private institutions of the country. Ultimately, it is about preventing, as far as possible, the post-coronavirus quarantine scenario from leading to a setback in a sector that has more than demonstrated its economic, social and environmental benefits. Especially in terms of deseasonalization of destinations, fight against depopulation from rural areas and promotion of more sustainable tourism models.
Hotel and destination specialization
AMBE will disseminate the need to move towards models of hotels y destinations specialized in cycle tourism in order to guarantee compliance with certain quality standards.
The more rigorous the destinations and services are in this sense, the greater the chances of design tourism products able to actually function as engines of economic development. En este sentido, AMBE identifies the Bikefriendly Quality Seal as the reference certification in the sector.
As a consultancy specialized in cycle tourism, Bikefriendly works by creating itineraries adapted to the needs of each accommodation and territory, promoting the business possibilities of the rest of the agents operating in the area.
CFE Certificate
At the same time, AMBE and Bikefriendly will work hand in hand to promote the use of bicycles in the business environment and promote the obtaining of certificates Cycle Friendly Employer among all types of Spanish companies.
This certificate, recognized at the European level, values the effort made by work centers to facilitate and motivate commuting to work by bicycle among its employees and also for moving towards the implementation of models based on cyclologistics.
In Spain, Bikefriendly is the company selected by the European Cyclists' Federation to carry out audits and grant certificates to companies. Both Bikefriendly and AMBE consider that the dissemination of this certificate will boost the daily use of the bicycle and will directly benefit brands, manufacturers and other companies that operate within the bicycle sector.
The more companies promote cyclomobility, more people will commute by bicycle in their daily lives and demand for their products and services will increase.
Cycle tourism association
This agreement between AMBE and Bikefriendly It also has among its objectives to promote and support the creation of a association of economic agents related to cycle tourism.
This association aspires to provide the sector with its own voice, strong enough to be heard by public institutions and participate in decision-making at the national level. They will have a place hotel chains, sporting event organizers, bicycle rental companies, travel agencies, specialized technology services companies…and any economic agent who works in areas related to cycle tourism.
AMBE, like representative and protective association of the interests of the Spanish cycling industry, In this way, it allies itself with the Bikefriendly business group with the focus on the goal of helping also strengthen the business fabric of cycle tourism.
Both entities will collaborate to give visibility to the sector, promoting collaboration between administrations, the private sector, fair institutions, trade promotion organizations and sports federations.
In addition, they will cooperate to advise and guide all those administrations or companies that want to promote their area as a cycling destination, providing personalized support in matters of product development, adaptation of infrastructure and services, marketing, image and tourism promotion.
