Its website includes the best rally, enduro and marathon routes to enjoy mountain biking in the Aranda Region and the surroundings of the Moncayo Natural Park.
The Aranda Region is determined to position itself as a reference territory for the practice of mountain biking in the province of Zaragoza and, therefore, launches the website of its own mountain bike center: Cara Oculta mountain bike center.
This website brings together, for now, eleven routes suitable for the practice of different modalities of mountain biking -rally, enduro and marathon-, in addition to information of interest about the environment and services (accommodation and restaurants) that may be useful to cyclists who visit the region to enjoy its tracks and trails in Mountain bike.
Mountain bike routes
Six of these routes that already appear on the website have been prepared, signposted and marked by the Aranda Region itself within the framework of an ambitious project that aspires to have, in the shortest possible time, another fourteen routes and a total of 350 kilometers of routes ready to enjoy.
These six routes have also been approved by the Aragonese Cycling Federation, so they meet the safety and accessibility criteria stipulated by said organization.
The other five routes included so far on the Cara Oculta Mountain Bike Center website correspond to the five Itineraries marked as cyclable in the Moncayo Natural Park and its surroundings and that have the approval of the Network of Protected Natural Spaces of Aragon.
Local sports tourism
The website is available in Spanish, English and French. However, José Ángel Calvo, president of the region, indicates that for the moment the territory is going to position itself as proximity sports destination, making available to the residents of the province of Zaragoza un fun route network that allows you to choose between options for all levels.
From simpler itineraries, suitable for family cycling or for those who want to start mountain biking, to more technical routes that run almost entirely along demanding paths or routes that accumulate steep slopes.
“The beauty of this project is that it allows us to discover the landscapes of the region and its surroundings from another perspective. The south face of Moncayo is 'the great unknown', hence the name of the mountain bike center, but all these routes pass through impressive places with great natural and landscape value such as the rocks of Morrón de Purujosa, the peak of La Lezna, or the paths that run between Calcena and Trasobares,” says the president of the regional institution.
Routes to download
the website of MTB center pick up for now description, tracks and technical sheets of eight XC-Rally routes (conventional mountain bike that runs mostly along forest tracks); two of enduro (with sections of technical descents on paths) and one of marathon mode that represents a real sporting challenge: almost 105 kilometers and 2.500 meters of positive gradient to cycle through the entire Moncayo Natural Park.
