Castellón, a mecca for summer music festivals , offers us the possibility of combining days of cycling and beach time with nights of music and fun.
The festival season in the province officially begins with Feslloch in early July and ends with the Benicàssim Electronic Festival (BEF) at the end of August.
La Arena Sound, on the beach of “El Arenal” with established artists and the best DJs in the world, as an exclusive festival held on the same beach; The FIB – Benicàssim International Festival, which since 1995 has brought together the best of the world's independent scene, or the Rototom Sunsplash, an unmissable destination for the most faithful followers of reggae, are some of the most important Festivals in the province.

Some of the municipalities in Castellón boast a rich cultural heritage. This legacy is made easily accessible thanks to initiatives like the Templar Route Tourism and Cultural Project , which allows visitors to explore the municipalities of Peñíscola, Culla, and Alclà de Xivert on foot or by bicycle along interpretive trails.

For family cycling enthusiasts , we recommend spending a few days in the Serra d'Irta Natural Park , an area where you can take a family stroll through the town of Alcossebre , explore nature-filled paths from which you can enjoy spectacular sea views, or enjoy fun mountain bike routes that will take you to the beautiful Peñíscola or the beach resort of Benicassim.

Discovering unknown lands
Despite being coastal, Castellón is the second most mountainous province in Spain and is home to the Pico de Penyagolosa, which, at 1813 meters high, is the highest point in the Valencian Community.
The attractiveness of the inland Castellón lands deserves a special mention, since it means discovering an environment of enormous attraction, both for its rugged geography and for the uniqueness of its traditions and culture.
If we add the four MTB centers in the towns of Morella, Navajas and Montanejos inland and Torreblanca on the coast , with more than 1500 km of marked mountain bike routes, plus the traditions and festivals of each town, we will discover a new Castellón that will surprise us.
Fun activities of amazing interest such as the Music Week and the Medieval Market of Morella, the International Concert Series of the City of Navajas, the Valencian Music Choral Festival of Segorbe or the representation of the Western Schism in San Mateu and exceptional gastronomy, will be the perfect finishing touch to our cycling trip along the Costa de Azahar.

Tracks Maestrat , a multi-stage route in Castellón of between 3 and 4 days that travels through the interior of the region and its impressive and hidden coves by the sea.

CYCLING CURIOSITIES:
The coastal city of Benicàssim hosted the fifth stage of the Vuelta a España cycling race in 2017. The route, entirely within the province of Castellón, passed through twelve municipalities and concluded at the Santa Lucía hermitage in Alcossebre.
