We offer you a tour through Central Catalonia, cycling along asphalted roads and quieter roads so that you can discover the best places in the 8 counties that you will cross by bike. All of this passing through typical Catalan cycling places such as Rasos de Peguera, Coll d’Estenalles, Capolat or the ascent to Montserrat, the true Mecca of Catalan cycling.
Many are the mysteries and legends associated with Montserrat, the sacred mountain. It is a place of pilgrimage and an obligatory destination for any cyclist visiting Catalonia. The “Moreneta”, the “Timbaler del Bruc”, UFO sightings, climbing… there are many nuances that generate attraction to this unique natural environment in the world. The mountain imposes its presence on the whole of Central Catalonia. Not in vain, its ascent is frequent in the Tour of Spain and the Volta a Catalunya.
The rest of the route is a combination of demanding climbs with quieter sections to enjoy the changing landscapes that you will find.
For this group adventure we have selected the most typical climbs of Central Catalonia, reaching Rasos de Peguera (1,894 m.), a real colossus of special category.
A support vehicle will accompany the group at all times and, in addition, you can take with you a Speaktracks virtual guide who will help you not to miss the most interesting points along the way.
We start the route at the Hotel Mas de la Sala to enter the Moianès region. We will pass through the Coll d'Estenalles, a typical pass for cyclists that connects central and pre-coastal Catalonia. We will pass through Rellinars to climb Montserrat, a typical climb of the Vuelta and the Volta that no cyclist visiting Catalonia should miss. We will sleep next to the Monastery, a unique experience.
We will leave Montserrat and head towards the Serra de Castelltallat, one of the highest points in central Catalonia. We will end the stage in Cardona, a historic city presided over by its imposing castle.
We will head towards the Pre-Pyrenees along small roads where hardly anyone passes. Some "little surprises" will put us to the test and the bravest can enjoy the pleasure of climbing Els Rasos de Peguera (1836 m), a real colossus comparable to the classic mountain passes of the grand tours. We'll arrive at Cal Marçal to take a well-deserved rest.
