Once summer arrives and we head off to those idyllic places, filled with nature and cool during the day, mountain biking is a great idea. Taking a mountain bike and hiking to a remote village on a certified trail in the summer is a wonderful idea, but you need to take certain precautions before setting out, in case of any mishaps and to avoid accidents.
PREPARING FOR A SUMMER MOUNTAIN ROUTE
1. The most important thing is to carry water, lots of water, in different containers, and keep them on your bike. If you don't have an external rack on your bike, you can carry it in your backpack, but having enough water is the most important thing.
2. Comfortable, cool clothing is best for the hike and will help prevent heatstroke. Obviously, you should never go out when the sun is at its strongest, as this can cause severe heatstroke.
3. Bring some nutritious and healthy snacks. Nuts or an energy bar are good options to stop and eat every now and then. This way, you'll have the energy you need for the entire trip.
4. Carry a small first-aid kit with basic supplies, such as bandages, disinfectant, or cotton balls. If a more serious problem arises, you will need to go to a health center.
Aside from these four important points, there are many others to keep in mind. For example, if you feel dizzy, you should stop pedaling quickly and move into the shade for a while. The mountains are tough, and mountain biking is no easy task. It's not a flat road, but rather has steep inclines and descents, so you must be very careful.
