Description
Tracks de Bacus 110 is a multi-stage mountain bike route to discover El Bages. The region of El Bages is located in the heart of Catalonia. A large plain, the Berry Plan, dominates a territory crossed by the Llobregat and Cardener rivers and surrounded by mythical mountain formations such as Montserrat, the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac Natural Park and the Montcau massif. Fields of grain, vineyards, and villages with cobbled streets make up the character of Bages.
The region has an ancient winemaking heritage. The name Bages comes from Bacchus, Roman god of the vine and wineThe remains of more than 4.000 vineyard huts, the remains of kilometers of dry-stone walls, and the unique vats at the foot of the vineyards remind us of the winemaking tradition of this region.
History permeates all of Central Catalonia. The Tracks de Bacus 110 route will take you through Manresa (the heart of Catalonia), enjoy the charms of Sant Benet de Bages, and conclude the route by exploring the medieval canal of the Sequía de Manresa.
