FAQs
Ideal bike: Any mountain bike (MTB). The choice will depend on each individual's priorities: lighter weight (hardtail) or greater comfort and enjoyment on descents (full-suspension). The e-bike option is rapidly growing among users.
Tires: Versatile tires are the most appropriate, as there are many different surfaces (rock slabs, paths, steps, tracks, loose rock sections, cobblestones, singletrack, etc.). This is an area with a lot of vegetation and fairly narrow trails: local bikers use tubeless tires or inner tubes with sealant.
Orientation: A self-guided route with the aid of a non-competitive GPS is a delightful way for mountain biking enthusiasts to enjoy the trail. It offers a variety of landscapes, including mountains, valleys, and rivers, along with excellent cuisine and the local culture.
Best time: From May 15th to the end of October (always snow-dependent). In July and August, check hotel availability.
Type of roads: The climbs are comfortable and rideable, almost always on paths. The descents are full of trails and less technical trails. But if you're more of a technical or enduro enthusiast, don't worry; the route has excellent trails and specific sections for MTB, some technical, others less so. The route is 100% rideable. However, individual technique is always decisive when it comes to continuing or dismounting the bike at a given point.
Philosophy: This is a self-guided, non-competitive tour; the important thing is to enjoy mountain biking in its purest form.
Luggage transport: Given the technical nature of the route, it is highly recommended to book this service. The price depends on the number of people and the stages of the route.
Mechanical assistance: The organization offers support services on the road.
Supplies: Each stage passes through one or more villages where you can stop for food and water. However, you can hire a refreshment service.
