DESCRIPTION

Can Xargay is a beautiful and spacious holiday villa with charm of XI century located in the quiet and safe village of Mata (Porqueres), only 2 km. from Banyoles lake, 15 km. from the Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of La Garrotxa and 35 km. from the beaches of the Costa Brava. Besides, it is also 15 km. from Girona city, 30 km. from the Dalí Museum in Figueres and 1 hour from the city of Barcelona. The house is in a walking distance from shops and restaurants and a short drive from Airport of Girona-Costa Brava (25 km.).

The accommodation is rented exclusively for a group from 12 up to 20 people, with 8 cosy bedrooms. The house is an accessible villa which is adapted for wheelchairs users. Besides, there are a fully equipped kitchen, large living room with TV satellite (international channels), air conditioning, central heating, large fireplace, games room with professional ping pong table and football table, dart board, board games, a kitchenette wooden for children..., a reading room, wellness center (health and wellness area), high speed internet - wifi.

Outside there is a beautiful garden with swings for children, a covered porch with barbecue which is ideal for eating outside all year round and a nice private heated swimming pool with an hydromassage bench.

The variety of landscapes in the Costa Brava region offers a lot of bucolic landscapes and artistic inspiration that make this area an unbeatable environment for family activities. Cycling, hiking, kayaking, canoeing on Banyoles lake are the most common sports. For this reason, Can Xargay is also a bike friendly villa. 100 meters from the house is the greenway that connects Serinyà - Banyoles - Girona.

Car is not necessary as you can arrive by public transport (bus).

The holiday house Can Xargay is located just 2 km away. of Lake Banyoles and 100 meters from the house, there is the cycle lane Banyoles - Girona - Sant Feliu de Guíxols / Olot or Banyoles - Serinyà.

Banyoles is an international triathlon training destination on the Costa Brava. The perfect combination of facilities, climate and terrain makes us one of the favorite destinations for training triathletes.

For road cycling, the roads are well adapted and have moderate traffic. The gradients vary and you can choose between steeper routes in the direction of the Garrotxa and the Pyrenees, or the flatter ones in the direction of the Empordà and the Costa Brava.

Rocacorba is one of the most challenging climbs in the area. An elevation of 880 meters and 13.8 kilometers separate you from the peak. Climb 540 meters in six kilometers during the second part of the climb, alternating very steep slopes of between 12 and 15%.

The city of Girona is just 15 km away. from the house and the beaches of the Costa Brava are a 35 minute drive.

Route of little difficulty that climbs towards the Pla de Martís, passes by the Prehistoric Caves Park of Serinyà and then reaches Lake Banyoles where it skirts the entire length.
